Selfies > Safety
Today was the first action-packed day of my trip. I had three main activities, each more different than the rest.
Number one. Boom. Wake up. Shower. 7/11 dim sum, bought a Sim card. Packed my essentials and followed my *seriously* amazing Airbnb host up Victoria Peak for some RealTalk™ about life, love and politics. Meanwhile, I took amazing shots of HK island, post-typhoon:

I love that last one. Nothing can stop people from wanting to hike!
After this bout of exercise, I took the bus down and met an old friend from University (who had messaged me that same morning). We had another round of RealTalk™, all while devouring some local Dim Sum. We then finished our quick meal with a beer on the rooftop of the Wooloomooloo Steak House (google it):

And finally. Le chef d’oeuvre. La crème de la crème. The perfect finish to a hot day:
The Swedish Crayfish Party
How to put this in words…
The Swedish Crayfish Party is an event celebrated once a year around the end of September, where Swedish fisherman catch local crayfish (écrevisses) from the bottom of the seabed and boil them in salted brine. The result is a giant feast consisting of crayfish, potato salad, smoked salmon, melted cheese, olives, marinated herring and dried meats, all served around various drinks.
What does this have to do with Hong Kong Kong ? Good question, fellow reader, for the answer is… Nothing!
I was simply invited by some of my best friends from Switzerland for dinner, and it was glorious. We spent the evening reminiscing about our old EPFL days, drank Bloody Caesars (google it) and played our favorite game of RealTalk™ (round 3).

In that last picture, we were in the pool for a total of 15 minutes. We were told to leave because the lifeguards had had enough and
“this is the first time we’ve been on duty for a month, and sadly, the pool now has to close until May 2019. Bye.”
Talk about timing.
